Community School of Music and Art
Fall Visual Arts Classes for Teens and Adults!
SHIBORI STITCH RESIST FABRIC DYEING
Students will create several pieces of fabric or repurpose clothing using stitch resist to create patterning in cloth. Stitch resist is one of the traditional methods to resist dye or reserve white/light areas when dyeing. Both traditional Shibori and Adere cloth methods will be covered including stitches, traditional design and color considerations. Cloth samplers and fabric pieces will be available, as well as images from traditional and contemporary work. Succession color dyeing will also be covered.
